EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
West Mercia Police (WMP) have submitted a request for a capital allocation to purchase an electric vehicle.
PROPOSAL
The PCC supports the purchase of an electric vehicle for a Chief Officer at a total cost of up to £38,000 (excl VAT), funded from additional capital borrowing in year.

PART 1 – NON-CONFIDENTIAL/EXEMPT FACTS AND FIGURES SUPPORTING REPORT
All chief officers are entitled to the use of a company car as part of national agreements.
Locally, the PCC has stipulated these will be electric vehicles in the interests of efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.
A request has been received to provide a member of the chief officer team with a suitable vehicle.
The fleet team reviewed currently available electric vehicles and sourced an appropriate vehicle that is considered to provide good value. A twin engine Volvo EX40. The total cost of the vehicle is £37,309.50, exclusive of VAT and first registration fee.
The proposal supports the PCC priority to reduce the carbon footprint of the Force fleet.

The request is to purchase an electric vehicle for a Chief Officer at a cost of £38,000 (net).
The cost will be required to meet from the additional capital borrowing in 2025/26 which would result in an additional £5.5k charge to revenue over the useful economic life of the vehicle.
