Funding

The PCC uses annual Ministry of Justice (MoJ) grants to fund and commission victim support services. Nationally, the MoJ provides services for witnesses, homicide victims, human trafficking, rape, domestic and sexual violence, and helplines.

Locally, the PCC commissions services to help victims cope and recover, ensuring compliance with the Victims Code and EU Directive. Supporting victims is a top priority, with additional funding allocated for specialist services in Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, and Child Sexual Exploitation.

Commissioning involves using resources efficiently to meet local needs and deliver best value. Services may be funded via contracts or grants. The funding pages explain local commissioning, what funding covers, and how to apply for grants.
