Pershore residents to have say on changes to local policing

A survey to understand whether policing concerns in Pershore have improved in recent months is being launched on Monday 9th October 2023.

As the voice of the public in policing, Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion has funded a second survey before he hosts a follow-up Community conversation event in Pershore on Wednesday 15 November.

The first survey in July, which was launched following a visit by the PCC earlier this year where residents voiced their disappointment at local policing, saw respondents overwhelmingly call for police officers to be more visible and accessible and for more to be done to tackle anti-social behaviour.

Participants to the last survey will be consulted again, alongside other members of the community, by research and analyst company, SMSR, who will be getting in touch over the phone and at face-to-face sessions.

PCC John Campion said: “I am committed to bringing around change in Pershore and since I visited the town, I have used all the powers available to me to support and challenge the Chief Constable on progress.

“This latest survey will be an opportunity for residents to reflect on the past six months and speak openly about local policing in the area and whether they have seen improvements.

“I look forward to hosting another Community conversation in Pershore in November and once again speak to and listen to residents about their experiences, trust and confidence in West Mercia Police.”
