PCC offers free online driver training
With too many people dying or being seriously injured on the roads, the PCC is offering free online driver awareness sessions.
As part of Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion’s commitment to making roads safer, and in keeping with the current climate, two online sessions will be taking place in November.
The training, held in partnership with national driver-education providers TTC, will test drivers on their Highway Code knowledge – including speeds, signs and hazard perception. Participants will also gain an insight from a Roads Policing officer on collision statistics, the affects poor driving can have on lives and how technology, such as dash cameras, can help.
Details are as follows:
Wednesday 4th November – 6pm – 7.30pmWednesday 18th November – 6pm – 7.30pm
PCC John Campion said: “Bad habits and bad road behaviour, once formed, can be hard to shift which is why we need to be doing all we can to make our roads safer.
“Due to Covid placing restrictions on having these sessions in person, I didn’t want to forego them completely, particularly as we head into the darker nights and winter months.
“We have received positive feedback from previous sessions, with attendees welcoming the opportunity to brush up on their knowledge and improve their confidence. I hope to see other drivers also benefitting.”
Those interested can find out more information and how to register their interest via Eventbrite. Attendees will then receive details of the sessions which are being held on Zoom.
